Julep Fast Dry Top Coat

I Am In Love!!! I finally found the best top coat ever! I would not recommend something that I wouldn't use myself. Since I do a lot of nail art & designs on my nails, I have been searching high & low for a top coat that would not smear my designs. I have used many brands & have even waited hours for my designs to be completely dry. I couldn't find one that wouldn't smear my designs if even just a little. Some of my designs I spend a lot of time on & I get frustrated when I put a top coat on & it smears. Then I received the Julep Fast Dry Top coat in the mail after becoming a Julep Maven & Taaadaa! It's a miracle!

I painted some quick designs on all of my nails. Please don't judge my designs as I just did them very quickly just to test the Julep top coat to see if it would smear.

The thumb & pinky designs were painted with acrylic paint. The other nails were painted with nail polish. I did this to make sure I covered my basis. This picture is pre-topcoat.

Taadaa! The Julep Maven Fast Top Coat DIDN'T smear any of my designs! I painted the top coat shortly after I painted the 3 design with nail polish. I'm so so excited about this. This topcoat is my go-to topcoat for sure. It is awesome. I would definitely recommend this to everybody!

Once again please don't laugh at my designs. I just tried to come up with quick designs to test this amazing topcoat. If you are not a Julep Maven, I would join for the introductory fee of $5 just for this topcoat. I believe you can still join for $5 using the code FB or intro5 at check out. If you decide to cancel after one month you may or you can continue to receive $40-$60 worth of polishes every month for 19.99. Here is the link. http://www.julep.com/AP.aspx?ID=520&EID=16292508

Nail Polish Ornaments

For Christmas this year I thought mmmmm what do I have around the house that I could make some Christmas gifts for family members & friends. I came across a YouTube video showing how to make these amazing Nail Polish Ornaments. I had the glass ornaments & some ribbon already & I had a few bottles of nail polish ;0). This is perfect!! So I got my glass ornaments, which I had purchased at the craft store years ago. I had large & small ones. This is a picture of a large one. Forgot to take a picture of the smaller one before I started.

Got my polishes ready. Some of them I did two different colors. You take the top off, pour the polish inside the glass ornament & turn the ornament until the entire inside of the ball is coated with polish. The ones with two colors, I started with the glitter polish first so it was on the outside of the ball. For example the pink ball I used OPI Teenage Dream followed by Wet N Wild Metalic Fucshia. After it is coated the way you desire turn upside down so the excess can drip out & dry. I put mine on top of a votive candle holder with a paper towel inside. I heard an egg carton works really well.

The Blue one is two coats of Kleancolor Holo Chrome. The teal one is Kleancolor Disco Ball & Wet N Wild Metalic Teal. The large green one is two coats of Kleancolor Jingle Leaves.

I also used nail polish to paint their name & 2011 on them just to make them a little more personalized.

I think they turned out very nice. Some of them were prettier than others. They look even better in person. You can either use your favorite polish to have it encased in this ornament forever or use one that is not your favorite so you arent wasting it. The smaller ornament only used about 1/4 of a bottle depending on the thickness of it. I had to had thinner to some to help it coat easier. These are a great inexpensive easy gift for friends & family.

Sally Hansen Quick Dry Nail Pen

I decided to purchase these only because they were only $1.50 @Big Lots a while back. I remember something similar to these about, well let's just say years & years ago when I was a young lad. Hehe. A friend & I road our bikes to the store & saw these pens that had nail polish in them. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. When you shook them back then they sounded like you were shaking spray paint. I think maybe they were made by Wet N Wild back then & there wasn't a button to push to get the polish to come out onto the tip. In order to paint your nails you just put the tip on your nails, pushed, the tip went up into the tube & came out with polish on it & you painted your nails. The first one I owned was a fuchsia color & seems to be similar consistency & texture as it is now.

As far as these SH Brand pens they are worth a $1.50 but I'm not sure they are worth much more. They retail around $8.00 in the drugstore. I definitely wouldn't pay that much for them even though they work pretty well. I'm not sure how many manicures you can get out of each pen. I put 2 coats on& it seemed to used quite a bit of product. I purchased Chrome Silver, Teal & Purple. They are pretty colors & go on smooth. In my opinion the brush is to wide & thick especially once it is filled with polish. You need to be very careful not to get it all over the side of you fingers & on your cuticles. You may have tons of clean-up if not careful. If you like the colors & can find them at a great price, I would say grab a few just to test them out for yourself. Pictures below is of the Sally Hansen Chrome Teal.

If you purchase any of these Sally Hansen Color Quick Pens, I would love to know what you think of them. What colors did you buy? Did you get a good deal? How was the application & what do you think of the brush on them?
Thanks for stopping by.

Black Rose

This is a mani I did a while ago but didn't have time to post it. I was just playing around with my Sinful color polishes after my haul. I think it came out ok & I actually ended up wearing it for a few days. I thought "not bad for my first try at my big fat roses!" ;0) I used Sinful Colors in Under 18 & Secret Admirer for the rose.

December's Julep Maven Box

I finally received my Julep Maven box. I love getting nail mail. It's like Christmas. This one was even more like Christmas with the gorgeous interior wrapping they did. As you will see in the pictures they put everything in a really pretty red & white snowflake bag with a big white ribbon. It looked just like a Christmas gift. It was so so cute. The packaging gets five stars!

I got Helena & Fast Dry Too coat in my box. I'm really excited to try the top coat to see if it compares to the others I have. I will let you know how it compares. I have similar colors to Helena but not sure if I have anything exactly like it. So that is good. All in all thumbs up!

I also received a Pomegranate body creme. I have been using it on my hands the past few days & am in love with the texture, consistency & the way it moisturizes. It soaks in well, is hydrating & doesn't leave my hands greasy which I like. When I first put it on there is a light scent of the Pomegranate & Papaya as stated on the label. After a while of having it on it has a strong smell of liquor. I'm not a drinker so I can't tell you what type of liquor that's just the only thing I can compare it to. I'm not really fond of the after scent of this at all. It's almost to strong to even bare. I guess if maybe I put it on a body part that was further away from my nose it wouldn't be so bad. I would really love it if they change the scent to Coconut with no after liquor scent. So that's my opinion on the creme. I'll still use it cuz I do like how it makes my skin feel just won't use it so close to my nose.

They even thru in an extra gift this month. I received a pot full of iridescent glitter. It's very pretty & will look gorgeous on the right color of nail polish & under the right lighting.

I tried to take a picture at the right angel so you could see the lustrous colors in the glitter. I hope this helps you get the just of how pretty it is.

I'm excited to see what everybody received in their Maven box this month. If you received this one I would love to know what you think of the Pomegranate Creme. Do you smell the liquor smell or something else? Or am I just crazy? Don't answer that. Hehe
Thanks for stopping by. Much love.

Twirp Nails

I did my son's girlfriends nails for their Twirp Dance last weekend. I tried to match her dress the best that I could. I think I did OK except I'm not used to painting other people's nails nor am I used to painting such short nails. So here is what I came up with & she loved them & save a few dollars too!

Here is a picture of them before the dance.
