Nail Polish Ornaments

For Christmas this year I thought mmmmm what do I have around the house that I could make some Christmas gifts for family members & friends. I came across a YouTube video showing how to make these amazing Nail Polish Ornaments. I had the glass ornaments & some ribbon already & I had a few bottles of nail polish ;0). This is perfect!! So I got my glass ornaments, which I had purchased at the craft store years ago. I had large & small ones. This is a picture of a large one. Forgot to take a picture of the smaller one before I started.

Got my polishes ready. Some of them I did two different colors. You take the top off, pour the polish inside the glass ornament & turn the ornament until the entire inside of the ball is coated with polish. The ones with two colors, I started with the glitter polish first so it was on the outside of the ball. For example the pink ball I used OPI Teenage Dream followed by Wet N Wild Metalic Fucshia. After it is coated the way you desire turn upside down so the excess can drip out & dry. I put mine on top of a votive candle holder with a paper towel inside. I heard an egg carton works really well.

The Blue one is two coats of Kleancolor Holo Chrome. The teal one is Kleancolor Disco Ball & Wet N Wild Metalic Teal. The large green one is two coats of Kleancolor Jingle Leaves.

I also used nail polish to paint their name & 2011 on them just to make them a little more personalized.

I think they turned out very nice. Some of them were prettier than others. They look even better in person. You can either use your favorite polish to have it encased in this ornament forever or use one that is not your favorite so you arent wasting it. The smaller ornament only used about 1/4 of a bottle depending on the thickness of it. I had to had thinner to some to help it coat easier. These are a great inexpensive easy gift for friends & family.

Sincerely From the Heart,
XOXO
Leslie
